Nurofen Express win
Reckitt Benckiser has lost its head of corporate communications as it hands out a brief for one of the best known healthcare brands it owns. Fiona Fong has left the company after three years and will not be replaced, PRWeek can reveal. She is believed to be freelancing for the foreseeable future. Fong said: 'I've been in PR for more than 15 years, and had great jobs in-house and on the agency side. I left Reckitt Benckiser because I decided to give up full-time work for now to allow myself more time for the needs of my young family.' Reckitt declined to comment on her departure. Fong joined Reckitt in October 2005 from her role as director of comms at specialist insurance company Hiscox. The creation of the post followed a review of Reckitt's PR that led to an expansion of the comms department (PRWeek, 10 September 2003). She previously worked at Brunswick and spent three years as director of corporate affairs at drug firm Novartis UK (PRWeek 13 October 2000). At Reckitt she had reported to global director of corporate comms Andraea Dawson-Shepherd, who had joined the firm earlier this year and was previously Cadbury Schweppes' top communicator (PRWeek, 19 June). Meanwhile, Lexis PR has picked up a six-figure consumer brief for Reckitt's Nurofen Express brand as part of a £10m integrated campaign. The agency is charged with developing an awareness-raising campaign to promote the painkiller variant, which was launched in 2007. Lexis will target women's consumer press and nationals, with a combination of opinion leader briefings, news generation and visual stories. PR Week 06/09/08
